Malala Yousafzai Interview

Here is the interview with student, author, human rights activist, and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Malala Yousafzai.

  1. If Malala Yousafzai had won the Nobel Peace Prize, I wonder if that would have brought more international attention to the issue of women's lack of educational opportunities, and to issues of women's inequality in general.

Here is the speech she delivered at the United Nations Youth Assembly this past summer. I found it extremely moving and inspiring, like her responses in the interview.

  2. Just an F.Y.I, the library now has "I Am Malala" by Malala Yousafzai if anyone is interested in reading her autobiography, and finding out more about her, it should be on the shelf for new books.

  3. Here's an article about Malala with a different human rights angle (U.S. drone strikes): http://thinkprogress.org/security/2013/10/14/2777441/malala-yousafzai-obama-drones/

But I think that Malala has brought a lot of attention to the topic of women's education AND women's political voices.
