Sexuality Explained
This video by Hank Green is the best fairly simple explanation of human sexuality that I've ever found. It explains some of the concepts we were talking about in class the other day about gendered pronouns and I think it's a good review of sexuality for everyone to watch before our final discussion of Kiss of the Spiderwoman.

Thank you for putting this up! Green breaks it down in such a way that makes you understand the actual complexity of the issue of sexuality. I think this video emphasizes how many factors go into a person's sexual/gender identity and also that it's not easy to put labels on people without knowing said factors. In relation to Kiss of the Spider Woman, I think this video not only helps explain how Molina identifies himself but also how Valentin identifies himself at the end of the novel.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree that this video was really interesting! It was really intriguing when he tried to explain the idea that not everyone fits into these predetermined ‘boxes’ that society sets up. It seems that in any type of paper work there are usually only 2 boxes to check in regards to gender which reflects the society in which we live. Also, I thought it was interesting when it addressed the idea that people can move across the different spectrums which I saw as directly relating to Kiss of the Spider Women.
